The story worth telling

A fast montage can hide the point you are trying to teach. If the explanation is about hand position, frame the hands and leave enough time to see the change. A single well-explained movement is a stronger subject than an entire workout squeezed into a reel.

Three things to capture

  1. The starting position
  2. One complete controlled repetition
  3. A closer view of the cue you explain

Let the camera run a little before and after each action. Those extra seconds give you room to find a better cut.

Give the edit a shape

01

Show the full movement

02

Return to the specific cue

03

Repeat once with the cue in mind

Before you share it

Review the instruction for the intended audience. Avoid implying that one demonstration is suitable for everyone.
